About Me
My name is Yoav and I am a licensed tour guide and tour organizer.
I was born in Kibbutz Maagan Michael, a kibbutz in northern Israel, located on the coast of the Mediterranean between Haifa and Hadera. I grew up in Jerusalem, where my family had moved when I was 13.
Becoming a tour guide was, for me, a nature and history enthusiast at heart, a very simple decision. As a teenager, I was hiking with the Society for the Protection of Nature and spent my military service as an armored force commanding officer in a rank of captain.
After my discharge from the IDF, I traveled to South America and when I got back, I enrolled in a tour guiding course. Since retrieving my guiding license, i guided Students groups, Jewish and christian groups, family groups, and many more.
Besides my tour guide diploma, I hold a bachelor degree in International Relations and Middle East and Islam Studies and a master degree in Middle East Studies. My academic knowledge of politics and Israels security situation is constantly woven into my guiding.
I take special pleasure in guiding in the Upper Galilee, which I consider a true paradise. I currently live with my wife and three children on Kibbutz Dan, located in the north of the Hula Valley, at the foot of Mount Hermon.
Besides guiding in Israel, I guide and manage tour groups in the UAE, Jordan, Egypt Morocco, and South America. I speak Hebrew and English and some Arabic, Spanish, French, and Portuguese. When not guiding, I enjoy reading and spending quality time with my family and friends.
